Setting Up and Using VoIP
Phone Number Handling
In InsurFront, the treatment of phone numbers is designed to facilitate seamless interaction between insurance agents and their clients.
Default and International Formats
InsurFront simplifies the process of entering phone numbers by not requiring a country code for each entry. Instead, the system intelligently utilizes a default country code set by the company for all phone numbers, unless specified otherwise.
Applying the Default Country Code
When a user inputs a phone number without a country code, InsurFront assumes the number is local to the company's default setting. For instance, for a U.S.-based insurance company with '1' as the default country code, entering a number like 4153213212 would automatically be processed as '+14153213212' within InsurFront's VoIP system.
Specifying International Numbers
For international numbers, users must input the phone number in the international format, which includes the '+' sign followed by the country code and the phone number. For example, inputting '+4741414141' would inform InsurFront that the phone number is Norwegian, and the system would dial the number as is.
Making Calls and Sending Texts
InsurFront's VoIP feature utilizes these formats to place calls or send text messages. If a phone number is entered in a format that does not match the international standard and lacks a country code, VoIP attempts will fail. This ensures accuracy in communication and prevents errors that could lead to missed connections with customers.
Setting the Default Country Code
To set or change the default country code:
A super admin or authorized user navigates to 'Settings'.
They select 'System settings' followed by 'Company information'.
In the 'Default settings', they update the 'Default country code'.
They must then click the 'Save' button to apply the changes.
By following these protocols, InsurFront ensures that all phone numbers are correctly formatted for effective communication.
